BDC Training ROI Calculator
What better contact, set and show rates are worth from the leads you already have, and how long the training takes to pay for itself.
The return on BDC training is the gross from the extra units the same leads produce, less what the training cost. Run your leads through contact rate, set rate, show rate and sold rate twice, once with today’s rates and once with the rates you expect afterwards, then divide the cost by the added monthly gross to get the payback time.
It runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is stored or sent to us, and there is no form to fill in to see the result.
What changes
That is 2.6 more units a month from the same leads, if the rates you entered hold. The whole result rests on the after-training rates, and those are your expectation, not a promise from us or from any trainer. Halve the improvement and see whether the training still pays.

How the Calculator Works
Shown appointments are leads, times contact rate, times set rate, times show rate. Units sold are shown appointments times sold rate. The calculator does that once with today’s rates and once with the after-training rates, keeps the sold rate the same in both (closing happens on the floor), and multiplies the extra units by your gross per unit. The cost is the fee, travel and materials plus the agent hours spent off the phones at their loaded hourly cost. Payback is that cost divided by the added gross per month. The denominators are the ones in our BDC benchmarks: contact rate over workable leads, set rate over contacts, show rate over appointments set.
About the Starting Values
The numbers the page opens with are examples so you can see a worked result. They are not benchmarks, they are not Pinnacle’s prices and they are not results we are promising. Put in your own rates from the last 90 days, and be conservative about the after-training rates: a few points on each rate is a meaningful change, because the three rates multiply.
What the Calculator Leaves Out
- Whether the improvement happens. That depends on practice and coaching after the class. Why BDC training fades covers what makes it stick, and measuring results at 30, 60 and 90 days shows how to check.
- The lag. Leads worked this week become appointments and sales over the following weeks, so the first month after training understates the change.
- Problems training cannot fix. If leads are not reaching the CRM, or nobody is on the phones when they arrive, better skills will not show up in these rates. Reading your BDC numbers separates a skill gap from a process gap.
- Turnover. If trained agents leave, part of the gain leaves with them unless new hires are trained the same way.
What to Do With the Result
If the payback is short even with the improvement halved, the case is easy to make; making the case to the dealer principal lays it out on one page. If it only pays at optimistic rates, look first at what training costs and how formats differ. When you are ready to talk about your own team, Sales BDC Training is how Pinnacle does it, and the rest of the decision is in the Sales BDC Training Resource Center.
